Questions

Good things to ask before we start.

If something isn't covered here please ask. I'm happy to talk it through before you commit to anything.

Not technically. Deep-Change Coaching draws on the framework of schema therapy, but it's coaching. It does many of the same things therapy does, helping you to improve your mental health an happiness, and uses many of the same tools to do so, but does not directly treat diagnosed psychological disorders.

If what you're facing needs a level of care I can't provide, I'll tell you honestly and help you think about the right kind of support.

Most coaching is focused, goal-oriented, and works on the most immediate layer of a problem, which is useful, so far as it goes. But Deep-Change Coaching adds a deeper layer: we address the underlying pattern, so the change holds up and carries into other parts of your life rather than solving the isolated problem bothering you today. With many coaches, the treatment may begin and end with some version of, 'you are stressed, so here are methods and techniques for minimizing your stress so you can perform better.' We might do some of that too. It can be necessary. But we'll also figure out why it is that you react to certain situations by becoming stressed, what happened in your life that caused you to form that emotional pattern, and address and try to change the underlying pattern. Not only will you have the tools to deal with stress when it arises, but you will become stressed less often as the patterns which stressed you out in the past become less pronounced.

Schemas are the deep negative patterns we pick up in childhood and reinforce across our lives, the lenses through which we read situations. Modes are the behaviours we develop to cope with or compensate for those schemas. A short psychological survey early on helps us map both, so the work is grounded in what's actually driving the pattern.

Usually around 20–30 sessions, typically weekly. We set the goal and rough timetable together at the start, so the work has a defined shape and a finish line you can see, that's the whole point of the approach.

Both. I see clients in person in the Jerusalem area, and I work with people online anywhere in the world. Online sessions are just as effective for this kind of work.

Sessions are in English. If you are a Hebrew speaker willing to be patient with my slow and slightly limited Hebrew, get in touch and we'll talk.

Adults who keep running into the same wall (following through, certain relationships, a recurring block at work) and who want to understand and resolve the pattern, or untie the knot, rather than just manage around it. It suits people ready to do reflective, committed work over a defined stretch of time.

The market rate in Israel is somewhere around 350NIS or about 100$ per session. I'm new in the field so if you start with me now you can lock in a discounted rate. The simplest way to start is a first conversation, you tell me what keeps recurring, and I'll tell you honestly whether this is the right tool for it.
